By motorway A43 to Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne, + 17km to Valloire via the D902 and the Col du Télégraphe (1566m).
Snow chains may be needed; chaining-up areas available.
Col du Galibier closed from November to May.

By Train

Take the train to St Michel-Valloire (17kms from Valloire).
4 ½ hrs direct from Paris by TGV (high speed train) on Saturdays and Sundays in peak season; daily services via Chambéry or St Jean de Maurienne.
London to St Michel Valloire 7hrs 20 (daily, 2 changes)  .

At weekends and on certain weekdays reservation is compulsory 48 hours in advance for bus transfers from Valloire.
